Shoshoni

Shoshoni

The Shoshoni tribe lived in valleys both east and west of the Rocky Mountains. They lived in states like Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Montana, and California. They roamed between the states and were called ''Valley Dwellers''. The Shoshoni tribe's homes were made out of thick long branches shaped into a upside down bowls with mud and leaves on top. Also on top was a hole called a smoke hole which was there when they made a fire. The smoke would not fog up the hut, instead it would go up the smoke hole.  The Shoshoni ate plants and animals. They captured horses to eat and ride them for transportation. The Shoshoni mostly wore little clothing. On celebrations they wore very bright clothing with beads and designs.
